Frequently Asked Questions:

  • During your initial evaluation, Dr. Miller will attentively listen to your reasons for seeking help. Based on your story, she will assess your movements, including strength, mobility, coordination, and posture. If your visit is in-person and a pelvic floor internal muscle exam is deemed necessary, she will obtain consent and provide additional education. After the assessment, you will receive educational materials and a home exercise program. Additionally, you will be informed of a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.

  • Dr. Miller, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, is recognized as an expert in the musculoskeletal system. The pelvic floor muscles, situated between your pubic bone, tailbone, and sit bones, are her area of specialization. Dr. Miller has received training through the Herman and Wallace Institute to conduct internal muscle exams, assessing strength, endurance, coordination, range of motion, and tension. This examination involves the use of a gloved hand, utilizing one finger with water-based lubricant to assess the muscles either through the vaginal or rectal canal. Informed consent will be provided and obtained before this examination.

  • Our top priority at Lotus Core PT is to establish a safe and welcoming environment. If you feel uncomfortable with any aspect of the exam and/or treatment, we strongly encourage you to inform us. We are here to assist you and will recommend additional treatments that best fit your needs.

  • Please wear clothing that allows you to move freely. This enables Dr. Miller to evaluate and assess effectively.

  • The short answer is YES!

  • Lotus Core Physical Therapy operates as an Out-of-Network Provider and employs a cash-based/pay-for-service model. As an Out-of-Network Provider, we do not have contracts with insurance companies. By adopting this model, we can offer high-quality, one-on-one holistic care that aligns with your specific goals. At the time of service, you will receive a Superbill containing all necessary information to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement. Payment for services with Lotus Core PT can be made using credit, debit, HSA/FSA accounts, or cash.

We provider a Superbill for in-person visits only. At this time, we are unable to provide a Superbill for Telehealth, wellness or coaching visits.n text goes here

  • Lotus Core Physical Therapy places a high value on providing high-quality care and has chosen to opt out of contracting with insurance companies, making us an Out-of-Network Provider. The cash pay or fee-for-service model enables the physical therapist to deliver traditional physical therapy care with fewer restrictions, longer visit times, and the autonomy to meet the individual needs of the patient.

What does this mean for you? At the time of service, payment is collected, and you will be provided with a Superbill for the session. The Superbill contains all relevant information that you can use to seek reimbursement from your insurance under out-of-network benefits.

Other benefits of the Cash Pay Model:

No referral: Colorado is a direct access state for physical therapy, meaning you are not required to seek a referral from a physician, surgeon, OB/Gyn, urologist, or urogyn to seek care. We appreciate an integrative approach and are happy to coordinate care with your care team if permitted.

Multiple complaints, no problem: We can address multiple complaints without having to perform multiple evaluations, as required by insurance companies when more than one area is bothering you. We believe in assessing the person as a whole and seeking an understanding of how the body works together, rather than focusing on one body part.

Less money out of pocket: Many people have high deductible plans, and with traditional models having caps on visit time limits and the number of sessions, you may find that you are spending similar payments to meet the in-network deductible amount. The cash pay model focuses on providing care with decreased frequency of sessions. We have a worksheet available to help guide you in working with your insurance company to understand your out-of-network benefits.

Building Partnership: We love forming lasting relationships and helping you get back to your peak performance. Once we have achieved that, it doesn’t mean that we are finished. If you are pleased, we are happy to help you reach your full potential beyond functional impairment or dysfunction.

If you are a new patient, please schedule an Initial Evaluation for an in-person or Telehealth visit. Please note that a credit card is required to schedule, but you will only be charged at the time of service. If you have additional questions concerning scheduling, please reach out to info@lotuscorept.com.

  • We request a 24-hour advance notice for cancellations. We understand that life can happen, and you may need to reschedule your appointment within 24 hours. We will accommodate these requests when you reach out to info@lotuscorept.com. If you are rescheduling within 24 hours and this occurs with a no-show or greater than 3-plus times, a $50 cancellation fee will be applied. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions or concerns.

  • Under the law, you have the right to request and receive a “Good Faith Estimate” detailing your estimated medical cost for non-emergency services from any of your medical providers. At Lotus Core PT, we believe in being upfront about the cost as you try to find the best fit for your healthcare needs.

If requested, we will provide a “Good Faith Estimate” in writing one business day prior to your scheduled appointment. You are also allowed to request a “Good Faith Estimate” before you schedule a service, and it will be provided within three business days. Please keep a copy for your records.

For more information about your rights to a “Good Faith Estimate,” visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or email us at info@lotuscorept.com.

  • These visits are reserved for non-residents of Colorado. The sessions are focused on providing guidance and education concerning anatomy, general pelvic health or orthopedic conditions and finding you resources online or in your local area.

  • A Telehealth appointment is a great opportunity to attend a physical therapy session in the comfort of your own home to address your concerns.

Suggested Requirements for a Telehealth Visit:

Equipment needs: A computer or mobile phone with Wi-Fi. If you have access to a tripod to hold your phone or someone available to help with video, this will allow you to maneuver the phone if you need to perform exercises or movements, but this is not necessary. Please turn off streaming-type services to help the connectivity for your session.

Space: Find a quiet space that allows you to express your concerns and questions to Dr. Miller. She will be in a quiet, private, and safe environment to allow you to speak freely. Please avoid public environments or taking the appointment in your car. If this were to occur, we will reschedule the appointment, and you will forfeit the cost of the payment for that session.

If you have question or would like to speak with Dr. Susan Miller that is not listed above, please reach out to Susan.Miller@lotuscorept.com.
